Few Options For Work From Home Moms

Label me "old-school" but I am one who is convinced that at least one parent should be at home with the kids minimally until they are school age.  It's not sexist, but optimally this would be "Mommy"", considering the fact that she is endowed with right equipment to care for baby.  In not too many years past our society has moved away from the traditional familiy unit and we are now in a position where both parents must work just to get by, or worst yet, it could be that you are a single parent

After my little on was born the plan of just leaving her at the local day-care facility was about comparable to the idea of having both my hands cut off.  To think that I would just take the sweetest, most important little being that I had ever known and just hand her over to a group of strangers to watch over her most of the day was just totally nuts as far as I was concerned.

Well, we were able to make it so that we could keep our daughter at home so that she could be with her parents each day.  I is clear after talking to many other parents of small children that the concept of Father going to work and Mommy staying home and raising the children is now more of a rarity than a commonality.  This is not okay.  We are now in a situation where our kids are being raised by the government.  Most all day-care centers are overseen by some division of the government, as if that person, just because their paycheck comes from a government office, somehow understands more about the needs of our children than we do.

Many parents have no choice.  If you are a single Mom I certainly empathize with your situation.  You have your work cut out for you.  But like the lyric said, "I will survive!".  You don't have much choice do you?  You have that baby to be responsible for.

Unfortunately when it comes to finding some sort of work from home for moms-type work you will do a ton of searching without finding too much in the way of employment.  The few opportunities that are actual jobs out there and which will allow you to work from home are tough to get.

Two problems.

This is an highly competitive market, and work from home jobs, even if you can find one, don't exactly pay a lot.

When our little one came along my wife spent quite a bit of time searching the internet for Work From Home Moms-type work.  Countless hours.  And weeks went by and the positions just weren't there. Sometimes, when we would find something that looked promising it was filled almost as quickly as the ad was posted.

One advice to solve this problem could be to actually start your own small business.  I know that you may be thinking that you don't have enough money to start your own business.  That may be.  It could be that you have an interest in some area or a unique talent that you would like to apply to a business but you may have found that it required too hefty of an investment for you.  Know that today there are many opportunities that work from home moms can use to start their own business which cost very little to get up and running.

The key is in finding something that is suited to you, which you have the skills to do, or which provides training so that you can develop your skills.  Forget about franchises. They are expensive to start and most likely you will stay in the red for the first year or two, defeating the purpose of looking for work from home as a mom.  Probably you are looking for something which can product income quickly, which doesn't require too much of a learning curve or much investment.

I found network marketing to be a very workable option for work from home moms, even though I'm a work from home Dad.  These days there are literally thousands of different network marketing opportunites to choose from, and with a bit of research, and knowing what to look for, one can find a company which suits their needs and wants.  In choosing this optioin you really want to try and find a team or sponsor who has the ability and availability to assist you in getting started, not just in taking your money.  Talk to them or spend some time reviewing any material they have available on their blog or other sites.  You may be surprised how good a feel you can get for these people just by spending some time on their websites.  And you may have to talk to a few of these guys before you are comfortable making a decision.  The difference will be, unlike a "job", these people will actually want to work with you provided you are fairly bright and ambitious.

But this type of work is very social and obviously flexible time-wise, even if you have a child in your lap. You may be surprised at how many others you will talk to who are also sitting there with their children in their lap!   And should you find the right sponsor, someone who can really teach you some solid internet marketing skills you will have a path to follow so that you can develop your own skills and cause increasing amounts of growth in your business as time goes on.  Another thing to consider about starting such a business is that the majority of the work will be in the very beginning, in the learning curve, in the establishment of your marketing strategies, account creation, etc.  Someone who really knows what they are doing can save time in the beginning by directing you so you are not just meandering all over the universe trying to figure out what to do.  So you may have to search around for a bit to find someone who can sponsor you and who is wiling to help you, who has also been around in the game for a long time.  This could make it way easier for you, which is why I point this out as an option for you.  Network marketing is one of the few fields where people are not only glad to welcome you into their business, but they are more than willing to teach you, without charging you.

Then, the rest is just doing the work. It's not magic.  It is a business, and it may be a lot of work.  But I found that with network marketing, most of the work is in the beginning.  Once it's up and running it doesn't take a ton of work to keep it moving along.  Perhaps this could be said of all businesses.
